Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry?

My mobile phone has stolen. i want to know how my cell can be blocked for all sim cards. whether it can be possible to inform to provider without having the police complaint. Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry?Hi Friends,

Simple to find Lost Mobile

An IMEI number-The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is an international identity number used to uniquely identify a mobile phone. The 15-digit IMEI number is an electronic fingerprint transmitted every time a phone is used, which reveals the identity of the mobile handset.

How can I find out my IMEI number? IMEI numbers are independent of the phone number and are usually written underneath the battery or on the back of the handset. Mobile phone users can also check their 15 digit IMEI number by dialling *#06# on their mobile handset. Mobile phone owners should make a note of their IMEI number and keep the details in a safe place.

If u lost your mobile, send an e-mail to cop@vsnl.net with the following info.

Naturally, I didn’t take it seriously, but since I had nothing better to do my curiosity got better of me, I did some R%26amp;D. Searched around for “cop@vsnl.net” to see if this was genuine, and I was pleasantlty surprised as I read the articles that Google spat got me.

Well, in short, the eMail thingy is indeed true. I remember reading a couple of blog posts thanking the Government for getting back mobiles and all.

The one and only catch - I believe the service is available for residents of Chennai. It’d be great if the same was available everywhere throughout India.

Good work, Chennai Police. Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry?
You can call the operator with the IMEI number (format of the IMEI is AA-BBBBBB-CCCCCC-D, although it may not always be displayed this way and can be found at the back of the box you bought) and tell them that it was stolen and you need it to be blocked. Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry? With the IMEI number of your mobile it can easily be traced by the police. Yes, just call the service provider and tell them to block the phone. Tell then it was stolen, or if you are worried, tell them it's lost.

They really don't care one way or another you are responsible for any calls, but a police report will aid you in replacement phones if you had insurance. Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry?noo cz only wid the IMEI number u can block it... and tht can be done at the Police registry only !Can my stolen mobile phone be blocked without police registry?

ring both your phone newtrok rovider and the police and have it blocked also cancel the imei number on your battery
No, you have to register your complaint with police, take a copy of it from them and give it to the service provider, then they will block your sim usage, but still the person can use other sim cards in that phone
