Hi my name is Lexi! I鈥檓 14 years old! My mom said that she would buy me a Chia Pet. Oh my God, do they really come alive and move around the house? What鈥檚 the purpose of the Chi pets? What do they do? My friend sat her Chi pet in her upstairs room and when she got in from soccer practice, her Chia Pet was in her living room downstairs! Now that is funny! Chia Pets are not actually pets. Did someone's lightbulb just flash on? They consist of a clay figure that you slather with seeds. These seeds grow and become plants that cover the clay figure making it look like hair, fur etc. Now as for the Chia Pet moving...not possible unless there was a motor inside of it with wheels or maybe wings! Yeah not bloody likely. It is more likely that someone who lives in your friend's house moved it just to freak her out and it worked! The purpose of a Chia pet...hmmm...good question. I never understood the attraction to them. I guess some people just like quirky stuff like that. A plant that grows on clay....go figure!
