Traveling through Canada, are pets required to be kenneled or behind barrier?

I will be traveling from the lower states through Canada and up to Alaska. While in Canada, are pets required to be in a kennel (or behind a barrier) while traveling in a vehicle?

My dog is usually just sitting in the back of my Jeep.Traveling through Canada, are pets required to be kenneled or behind barrier?Pets do not need to be restrained when traveling through Canada per se. But many places will require you have your pet on a leash at all times, so be ready to do that when you stop.

Also be aware that you need to provide proof of rabies vaccination, read more hear under 'pets'

The SPCA heavily encourages people to keep pets in a kennel if they must be in the bed of a truck, but as yet there's no law about it. I'd encourage you to do it too.
