How do you get a counter and get pets in your pet store in the sims 2 pets?

I just got the game yesterday and i wanted to build a pet store so how do you put in the register counters and the pets into the store!!! I can help you on this question though. For the counters, you need to go to build mode, then select surfaces then the counter icon, then there is a huge Selection (Depending on how many expansion packs you have). For the register counter, you need to make sure your in a community lot. Then I think you go to Misc (the one with 3 circles on it).

You can get any kind of counter you want. It doesn't matter. Next, go into either the Miscellaneous or the Electronics section, and then buy the cash register. Place it on the counter, and make sure it's facing the direction you want the person to stand. The checker person will automatically be there when you come to the lot in the future.

To get pets, it's in the Miscellaneous section, I think. There should be bin-shaped looking objects. Picture a table with a glass container on top of it (open at the top). There's one for dogs and one for cats. Get as many as you want. The pets will automatically appear in them when you come to the lot later. Once you have a Sim come to the lot, have them interact with the bin and when you say "Buy a Dog" or something along those lines, you can get them any kind of dog you want. So it doesn't matter what kind of dog is currently showing in the bin.
