Is it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?

Do you think it's fair to exclude pets from an apartment building? Is it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?Of course it's fair. It's the property owner's right to protect their property as they see fit. And, sadly, the dead beats that allow their pets to trash apartments make things bad on the responsible people who don't allow their pets to cause damage (or pay to repair any damage caused). Even if the pet owner is responsible, let's say they move out, allergens from the pet are still in the carpet, etc. Suppose the next person that moves in has severe allergies to pet dander? The apartment owner is either going to suffer financial burden from paying to intensely clean the apartment, or remove carpet, etc and replace, or loss of income from that potential renter moving on. It does seem hard, but landlords aren't into owning apartments just for the fun of it. They are running a business. And the way for a business to succeed is to run it as efficiently as possible. Allowing pets just adds to their potential for financial loss. I'm thankful I own my own place. I would imagine it would be hard/impossible to find somewhere to rent that would allow 5 dogs, a house cat, and a parrot. Is it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?
its unfair to me but a lot do exclude pets because of pet damage and noiseIs it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?I think that it is unfair to exclude pets from an apartmentIs it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?
I dont think its fair to exclude pets from an apartment building. We have a good body corporate, which allowed me to have my pets.

But, I agree with the noise and mess issue...luckily, my animals dont do either, so we have no issues with that. Some people can be a bit stupid about their choice of pet...maybe wanting a dog or a large parrot who might make a lot more noise than a cat or a budgie. They're the ones who muck it up for the others living in the block. You have to consider that you are living in close proximity to other people and need to have consideration for them too. Is it fair to exclude pets from an apartment building?I don't think it's fair within excemption - having a large Macaw or large dog in an apartment building wouldn't be wise as a Macaw is extremely loud and it would be cruel to keep a big dog that requires a lot of excersice cooped up in a small apartment building. That said I don't think a landlord should have the say but the owner using commong sense with what animals would suit an apartment building.
