Is Pets Pick pine shavings good for my 14 week guinea pig?

i was wonder if Pets Pick Pine Shavings is okay for my almost 5 month Guinea Pig "Giggles"

Because i heard it was bad for her and i just want to make sure... i bought a whole bag of it :Is Pets Pick pine shavings good for my 14 week guinea pig?|If the pine bedding is heat-treated it's less of a risk and better than cedar for sure.



If you want to be perfectly safe use the recycled paper bedding.

Please do not use the pine shavings. It's not worth it because pine shavings can give your guinea pig an URI and other problems related to the lungs because of the dust and strong aroma of the pine. I recommend buying Carefresh bedding or even Aspen shavings. I use fleece since my guinea pigs have a big 2x6 C%26amp;C cage and i cannot afford $60 every month on bedding (just an estimate) so i put down two layers of towels under the fleece so it absorbs the pee and "wicks" thru the fleece. I spot clean (clean up any un eaten hay on the fleece and poops every day) and i wash the towels and fleece 1-2 times a week.

In the wild guinea pigs are social animals and need another friend with them at all times so they don't become lonely and sad. vets do not advise rodents to use pine shavings because it could cause respitory disease. i had a rat who died of respitory disease because i used pine. use the paper bedding you could find at pet stores.Is Pets Pick pine shavings good for my 14 week guinea pig?You should take it back and ask for what is safer too bad they should've given you informed advice!
