Can you believ how many pets there are in america?

I hear a statistic that in the U.S. there are so many unwanted pets that each person in the U.S. would have to have 10 pets (cats, dogs) in order for there to be no homeless pets. How horrible is that?Can you believ how many pets there are in america?I used to work at the SPCA and have spent the last 30 years working with abused and abandoned animals. There are more homeless animals than anyone can ever guess. This is a result of ignorance, not knowing about animals, the dog gets too big, too playful, won't behave,etc. Animals are like children, they have to know what is expected of them.People have to learn that animals definately have feelings and are living, breathing beings...not disposable things to toss whenever you get tired of them. They are a responsibility. AND...unless you are a liscensed breeder...ALWAYS SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR ANIMALS!!!!! That is the number one reaseon ther are so many unwanted pets. There are plenty of low cost or free spay and neuter clinics in the country. Take care of your pets...after all, they take such good care of us!Can you believ how many pets there are in america?really?
