How do I activate my virgin mobile phone?

I am recieving an old virgin mobile phone from a relative. This is my first time using virgin mobile. On the website the choices include: 1. I am a new customer activating my virgin mobile phone and 2. I used to be a customer and i'm reactivating my phone.



i am confused because its a phone that my relative used to used but now the service is turned off.
