What are good pets while on crutches?

I am on crutches at the moment, and will be for at least a year more. Are there any pets that will be good especially for me? I had two gerbils who recently passed away, and while they where easy I'd like more intelligent small pets to train, and even possibly take for a walk. Small animals are best, and please link to any sites that cna help. Thank you! What are good pets while on crutches?Hi there.

Well, I suggest a rabbit. Rabbits are very cuddly and friendly and most love being talked to and stroked. They are gentle and good with children, too.

I hope I helped - good luck. What are good pets while on crutches?I suggest rats :).

They are the most wonderful small pets I've ever owned.. And I've had several kinds growing up.

They are highly intelligent.. Probably more so than other small pets. They learn their names. Learn to use litter pans. And can even be taught several tricks/commands. They also tend to bond to their owners much like dogs do.

They are also highly intelligent.. When you hear things like, "dirty rats".. Thats so untrue, and unfair. Most people who have the image that even pet rats are dirty little animals, really have done no research on the subject.

They require to be kept in pairs. Preferably same sex.

They need slightly larger cages due to activity level.

Diet can be a challenge since no pet stores really carry a high quality food for them. I have to order my lab blocks online, and I go for the Harlan Teklad brand.. I also feed them fresh veggies and fruits every other day. And make a mix to give them a couple times a week.. I use this for my mix: http://www.ratsrule.com/diet.html

Heres an amazing site to further research the wonderful little guys: http://www.dapper.com.au/What are good pets while on crutches?I would recommend a rabbit! They are adorable, and smart. My rabbit is my best friend :) You can get get little harnesses to take them for a walk. :)What are good pets while on crutches?
Get a house rabbit, they are bigger than normal rabbits and you can train and walk them if you like! I've always wanted one
