What percentage of people have indoor pets?

I have an indoor very small dog (2 1/2 lb). My husband and argue about it a lot. His latest thing he has started saying is that 95% of people feel as he does that animals do not belong in the house. I would like to know the percentage, for and against indoor pets. What percentage of people have indoor pets?the first link was interesting so i put it in..however the second link give logical and common sense reasons as to why you dont let your pet cat outside to fend for itself.the last link brings an amusing but makes sense article as to why you wouldnt leave a dog outside.personally i love my pets,i love the fact that my dogs and cats greet me at the door when i come home.when ive had a bad day ,they always seem to calm me down.they dont hold grudges when youve made a mistake.they are more than animals they are part of the family.and should be treated as such.i dont know what 95 % your husband is referrring to ...as many animal lovers that there are today, not to mention rescue agencies not only in the states, but across the earth...i think youre husband is confused and has it backwards....the next time your husband mentions 95 % ask him when he has managed to have time to ask 95% of the human population how they felt...better yet, tell him to show you where he got this information instead of you doing all the workWhat percentage of people have indoor pets?Your husband would be very wrong. There are certain areas where you see more outdoor pets than others, but well over half of people that own pets keep them indoors mostly.

I always think to myself as well, what's the point of having a dog if you're just going to leave it tied to a tree or dog house in the yard? It won't be any good as a guard dog tied up or confined, it won't be happy since they're pack animals, you won't get the companionship... It's just a waste.
